Recently I had an Home Energy Audit completed by GreenSpot.  My furnace was running overtime and I feared my energy bills – especially as winter was approaching.  I could feel a draft through the house when the wind blew, but was not sure what to do about it – or where to start.

I typed in my request at ServiceMagic.com – on a Monday afternoon – and within an hour GreenSpot contacted me.  Over the phone, they were able to explain their services and I had an appointment scheduled for later that same week.  (Xcel Energy told me it would be 2 weeks just to receive a phone call to then set up an appointment for an audit).

That Friday Melissa, with GreenSpot, arrived ON TIME and ready to get to work.  We started with a walk-through my unit, addressing concerns and expectations.  I explained my home needed to feel cozy and be more energy efficient – all without breaking the bank.  She was very understanding and patient with me.  Never once did she make me feel like this project would be a lost cause or a waste of time – she remained very positive.

During the inspection she spent 2+ hours checking every nook and cranny using a ‘high tech’ camera and other gadgets.  Upon completion it was reconfirmed that she would recommend both ‘top-notch’ upgrades and ‘budget-friendly’ fixes and have a report to me by the middle of the following week.

After reviewing the report I let Melissa know there were things listed that I couldn’t afford to do and she was NEVER pushy.  Instead we prioritized the list, and by that Friday she was at my house with the Contractor getting started!  I also had to send information to my HOA for attic work, and Melissa was more than helpful with that as well.  I am so happy I had GreenSpot complete my Energy Audit.  I will be hiring them again in the future BEFORE I buy another home.
